Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon

Prof David McCormack is a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon and National Clinical Lead in Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand. He previously served as Associate Chief Medical Officer of Te Whatu Ora Waikato and Head of Department of Waikato Cardiothoracic Unit. Prof McCormack has a clinical interest and expertise in complex multivalvular and aortic surgery. He is skilled in the management of ischaemic heart disease and heart valve surgery. Active in the generation and utilisation of technology to advance surgical practice, healthcare delivery and innovative research.
