David McCormack is a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon in private practice at Braemar Hospital in Hamilton and in public practice at the Waikato DHB Cardiothoracic Unit. He is also an honorary senior lecturer in surgery at The University of Auckland.

Mr McCormack has a clinical interest and expertise in complex aortic surgery and is skilled in the management of ischaemic heart disease and heart valve surgery. He is active in the generation and utilisation of technology to advance surgical practice, healthcare delivery and innovate research.
